Seen - :phunk Studio's Universe

:phunk Studio  opened their dramatic Universe show this past Saturday (1.19.08) @ Gallery J. Chen in Taipei.  While toy collectors are probably most familiar with :phunk from the recent Lei Gong vinyl figure, the studio excels with conceptual and illustration work. The work draws on a variety of  culture influences including Chinese Philosophy, HK Pulp Fiction, Japanese manga, Otaku subculture, and broadly pop culture.   We didn't make the show but Eddie from Pixie did and dropped these great shots in our inbox.
