Dave Pressler's Blimp Resin Sculpture

As promised back on Friday -- here's a look at one of Dave Pressler's stunning Blimp resin sculptures done for his Navigating the Imaginary Skies solo opening this Saturday, April 19th (7 PM) @ M Modern in Palm Springs. This one is based on his "Navigating Imaginary Skies" and he also created another one based on "Know Your Enemy" featuring an armed Zepplin-ish blimp.

Dave will be producing additional blimp sculptures -- each one will feature a unique paint scheme and gondola + pilot.  Dave sculpted, molded, cast and painted each blimp by hand (no robots!) with some time spent in Julie B's Pretty in Plastic studios. The blimp is 12.5" Long  And 7" wide.  The gondola is about 8" long.   These large high-end pieces are cradled in a monofilament hanger with a connection hook.

Awesome.  The blimp builds on Dave's previously released Endorphins (Munky King show in January of '07) yet the amazing gondola and pilot put this into rare air.  Dave continues to impress.
