Brent Nolasco’s ‘Hunger Pains’ for the FEESA Art Auction (12.1)

Brent Nolasco created ‘Hunger Pains’ for the upcoming online art auction (12.1 – 12.7) to benefit FEESA’s (Feed Employ Educate South Africa) efforts to assist the impoverished South African community of Kayamandi.   Brent’s piece features Hunger clad in armor complete with a possum skull so that he might play dead as those that would seek to vanquish him approach.  The frog atop ‘hunger’ longs for a kiss for a transformative opportunity.  Hunger Pains was created with graphite, pencil, and water color on gesso board and measures 18” x 24”.  Hit the jump for a series of exclusive progression shots.

The auction which is sponsored by Cardboard Spaceship and Juxtapoz, goes live on December 1st on eBay and runs through December 7th.  The goal of FEESA founder /Cardboard Spaceship co-owner  Nick Glow is to raise $15,000 dollars which will be used to feed 200 children for 40 days (8000 meals), employ six single mothers at a fair rate for two months and provide school uniforms for 100 children.  100% of the proceeds from the art auction will go directly to FEESA and its charitable efforts.  So come December 1st, be sure to search for ‘feesa’ on eBay and bid generously on pieces that catch your eye.
