Reactor-88’s Custom Corner : Firehead Designs

Welcome to the October edition of Reactor-88's Custom Corner. This month we’re highlighting Firehead Designs.

What’s your name?

My name is Cesar Diaz

Where are you located?

I live 10 miles away from Los Angeles, CA

Day job or full-time artist?

Other than selling my custom figures, I’m also a part-time freelance illustrator, working to be full time.

Any random things you want people to know about you?

Don’t cross my path during a full moon.

How long have you been painting toys?

I’ve been making custom toys for a good 8 years now, but I’ve been doing art for the majority of my life.

Anything specific you’d like people to know about your toy work (style, influences, special techniques, etc.)?

My work is constantly changing. I’m the type of person that can’t be doing the same technique over and over again. I need to evolve and change things around. I love learning new ways to make art. I do it all, from vinyl figures, to sculpting, to resin figures, to art prints. Now that I have a 3D printer and 3D print my figures, I find it so much more satisfying and fulfilling to create something out of nothing. To me being an artist is like being a mad scientist. Everything is an experiment.

Do you take commissions?

Currently I'm only taking commission orders on Munny and Dunny vinyl figures.

Best way(s) for people to contact you/see your work?

The best way to contact me is through email at [email protected]. People can also follow me on Instagram or Twitter and of course my website is fireheaddesigns.com.
