Snout Variants fromSTRANGEco

Loads of exciting SDCC stuff  coming your way from STRANGEco.  In particular, there will be two ?exclusive? color variations of Touma's snout available at the 'con,  Gunmetal and Silver.  These are pretty fresh -- and seem to have eyes that pierce right through you.   Pretty intense variants IMO. No word on price or edition size.

Gwins!

What's a Gwin?  It's a brand new  penguin vinyl toy  from October Toys.  The shape is based on the original "Tux"  penguin (Linux Mascot) designed by Larry Ewing. What a cool idea and sweet inspiration!  Series 1 features nine designs including those from   Mimic, Doctor A, Nixon Scratches, idlechimp, Eric Treadway and SpookyAMD.  Not only is the shape interesting, I'm a huge fan of both Mimic and Doctor A so its doubly sweet!  While series 1 won't drop until  late August, it  will be on display at SDCC (July 14th - 17th) in the Tower Records booth (#4729).   The Gwin's are available for pre-order directy on the website at $8 each or $64 for the full set of nine, so check 'em out!

David Horvath's Ham Slammer 8-inch Qee

Here's the first pic of David Horvath's really spiffy Ham Slammer 8-inch Qee! If you work for a certain breakfast establishment... move along... nothing to see here.   This will be limited to 500 pcs, sell for $50 and be available first at comic-con.  I love the ad which is chock full of Horvath's usual cartoony goodness.  I'm glad it also carries over to the box.  Gotta love toys that come in boxes covered with delicious art.  This toy is  very svelte at $50 and a zero-calorie way to start your day as well!  Uh-oh -- my wallet's slinking away into the corner... come back here!

Chop Shop show at SDCC (July 14th - 17th)

Exciting news! The Chop Shop show at the San Diego Comic-Con,   features 66 vinyl cars customized by an amazing lineup of artists including both well-known superstars and  up and coming talent (click the poster to the left for the lineup).  The show, the first of its kind at Comic-Con, is curated by miQ willmOtt and Munky King.  Five versions of the Ledfoot vinyl cars (diecast wheels) serve as the "canvas" for the show which will be located at the Munky King booth. The standard Ledfoots look really nice -- just imagine what they'll look like when they're fully customized and tricked out!   So make sure to swing by Chop Shop at the 'Con and perhaps even purchase one of the custom vinyl rides for yourself!

Voltaire's Deady Baby Qees (2-pack)

Fresh from Toy2r, here's the official ad for the Comic-Con Edition of Voltaire's Deady Baby Qees (2-pack).  Apparently the comic-con version is a mono/grayscale variant of the original still unreleased design.  I know alot of people (including Francine) have been looking forward to these lil' guys especially since there are so few Baby Qee's released these days.  Definitely something to pick up at SDCC.

Gary Baseman - Black Bear OX-OP 8-inch Qee

Courtesy of Toy2r here's the official ad for Gary Baseman's new 8-inch Black Bear Ox-OP Qee.  Looks pretty slick!  Haven't seen it in person yet, but I think I prefer this one over the original white/pink Baseman Qee.

San Diego Comic-Con: Keeping Track of It All

The San Diego Comic-Con (July 13th- 17th) is without a doubt the biggest show of the year for designer toys (plus almost every other form of pop culture, including of course comics). Between now and Comic-Con we're going to try to collect and post any/all info related to designer toys at SDCC such  as exclusives, signings, etc.    We've also created an SDCC category for all things Comic-Con.   Hopefully collecting this info in one place will make it easier to plan out your trip, figure out what to save money for, and make it a little more fun :-)

If you have info you'd like to share about SDCC plans, please feel free to email us via the link in the right-hand sidebar.   Thanks!
