MINDstyle’s Stephan Le Podd NYCC Exclusive by Doktor A
Now that we’re less than a week away, MINDstyle is starting to unveil their plans for NYCC (2.6 – 2.8). The Asia-based brand leads off with news of two sweet releases. First, there’s limited-edition NYCC exclusive goodness from Doktor A. Following up the Sunday’s Best and Sweeny Podd (Asia Ex) releases, comes the Stephan Le Podd Parlour Room NYCC exclusive edition of Doktor A’s large-sized Mechtorians figure.
Rocking a gray, black and silver monotonish design with fly headgear this is the most laid back incarnation of SLP yet (pic above is of a late prototype, final may vary slightly). This NYCC exclusive is limited to 100 pieces worldwide @ $89.99. It will be available in limited quantities at NYCC from Toy Tokyo (#858) which will also take orders for the forthcoming stock. Judging by the here today, sold out tomorrow reaction from collectors for the Sweeny Podd ed, don’t expect this one to last long at all.
If you’re going to be at the show, don’t miss your chance at a first look at the Mechtorians Mini Fig Series 1 which will be on display at Toy Tokyo’s booth. S1 drops worldwide on February 26th, 2009.

kaNO’s Hi-Def spied at ToyQube
Don’t look now but kaNO is quietly establishing himself as an exciting toy designer. First up was Moneygrip. More recently, the quirky and clever Bodega from BIC Plastics paid homage to its urban roots in a subtle manner. Now comes Hi-Def from ToyQube.
The new figure was spied at ToyQube’s grand re-opening last night in both gray and black editions. The figure is a trippy fusion of urban character design and futuristic/robotic stylings. The prominent head with it’s massive headphones and jagged facial features sets things off followed by cool details including the hard-edged hands and joints.
Look for the first edition to drop during NYCC from ToyQube’s booth (#870).

Carnival Cartoons (Booth #964) makes their presence known at NYCC with a special exclusive release of Pierce & Nathan. A perfect purple pair to go with your Buzz and Harnett figures. What’s that? Pierce is the quintessential bratty younger brother, and Dogboy is Pierce's pal, a loving pet, and... a fur covered wingman! Pierce relishes his gross-out gig as "The Human Pincushion" in the family sideshow act. (He's got more holes than a boardwalk putt-putt course). When Dogboy isn't doing double duty as the family's household hound, and Pierce's partner in crime, he wows the crowds at Barker's sideshow with his furry face and outrageous animal antics!"
Sharing their booth with kaNO, Carnival Cartoons will have on hand skatedecks, prints, plus resin figures available to all. Pierce The Human Pin Cushion stands about 5.5” tall & Nathan The Dog-Faced boy stands about 4” tall. The set comes signed with a mini print. More pictures of this carni family after the jump.
