Paul Kaiju @ SDCC
It has been a big year for Paul Kaiju so far, with many more things to come. During PK’s time at the Global Figure Symposium booth, he dropped a lot of amazing stuff. That includes his first ever sculpt to vinyl figure, the Boss Carrion. He also surprised us with a magnetic trunk and foot, which held onto one of his Biter figures. The HP Boss’ were just amazing and it was a shame that I was tapped out to pick one up. He also exhibited some painted tree sculpts and Funguy, and not to mention his custom collaboration with Big Plastic Toys. To many things to talk about, just look at the pics.
Uamou @ SDCC
Ayako Takagi, the artist behind Uamou attended this years SDCC at the Global Figure Symposium booth. She had tons of Uamou figures available and even displayed some customs that other folks have done for her. One of the most rad pieces at her table were the Goto-San hand painted Uamou Fortune cats. We also cannot forget the sketch she did for us! Thanks again Ayako!
Podgy Panda @ SDCC
Our favorite New Zealander Podgy Panda came all the way out to San Diego for Comic Con. We found him at the Dragatomi booth signing and sketching for the attendees, I wish i had some paper around so I could have gotten one of Podgy’s killer sketches. Thanks for the pics Podg!
Katope, Brian Flynn, & L’amour Supreme @ SDCC

Katope had a bunch of custom Drunk Seijin’s, Brian with his customs and Clear Mummy Boys, and L’amour with a whole lot of customs available. L’amour also had available his collaboration figure with Itokin-Park, Baby Huey.
Scribe & Alissa Ross @ SDCC
Scribe & Alissa Ross were back again at the Cardboard Spaceship booth for SDCC. This time Scribe was there to promote and release his first ever vinyl mini figure series, thanks to the help of Cardboard Spaceship. Alissa was also there to show off her amazing plush work and customs.
Super7 @ SDCC
As every year, Super7 had their same ol’ spot at SDCC. This year they released TONS of figures, as well as tons of artists signings. Take a look at the army of Storm Trooper Super Shoguns guarding the booth. They also had a teaser of some of the new members of the upcoming Monster Family figures.
Who can be the artists behind these silhouettes?
MONSTREHERO @ SDCC
The MONSTREHERO guys were at this years SDCC and posted up their goodies at the Global Figure Symposium booth. They took about half the whole table with all of their resin figures. It was also great seeing the RealxHead collaboration figures as well. More pictures after the jump.
Sucklord @ SDCC
It was the Sucklords turn at the Global Figure Symposium booth and he brought some of his bootleg goods with him. We cannot forget the choice of newspaper ads Sucklord used to cover the table to protect it from the spray paint. Not to mention the fumes that was coming out of that booth as well.

DJ Lance Rock @ SDCC
DJ Lance Rock of Yo Gabba Gabba! came to SDCC last Sunday to show off his very own Dunny. A day most of us know as kids day. He was there to meet with not only the kids, but the adults as well. It seemed as if there were more adults into Yo Gabba Gabba than kids and I know why.
Skinner @ SDCC
We caught Skinner signing and sketching at the Color Ink Book booth, where he had available his Lurker and Lurker Wolf available. I don’t know if anyone else noticed, but we saw a ton of Color Ink book stickers slapped around downtown.
Skelanimals Artist Series Qee @ SDCC
Wandering around the convention, we found ourselves at the Skelanimals booth. They had on display their first ever Artist Series Skelanimal Qees. We took a few close look at some of these designs in person.
Jeff Soto @ SDCC
Jeff Soto was signing at the Hi-Fructose booth and we were surprised to see a rainbow of Seekers being displayed. What I also noticed were the different antlers each of the seekers had. Curious as to see what Hi-Fructose has in store for these big fellas.
Jeremiah Ketner @ Dragatomi
Attending his first SDCC ever, Jeremiah Ketner was available to hit up all the attendees sketchbooks. If you missed out, Jeremiah was at the Dragatomi booth along with his amazing customs that were on display. It was great to see you out Jeremiah!
Drilone & Leecifer @ Dragatomi
It was time for Drilone & Leecifer to hit take over the Dragatomi booth for a lil signing session. They were available to do some quick sketches, as well as some stencil work. The fumes were definitely buzzing at the booth!

SDCC: The Canmans – Graff Spray Can toys from Toynami
In addition to the UNKL figures, Toynami seems to be exploring the ‘urban’ genre with ‘The Canmans’. At first this seems to be yet another spray can figure. The wrinkle is that it looks like the brand is working with some top-flight artists including REVOK, Dabs Myla, POSE and Greg ‘Craola’ Simkins. Additionally, this is a ‘jar’ concept which we believe refers to the stash space that becomes available once the top is removed. Very curious to see how this early project continues to develop.
SDCC: The Return of UNKL
After a brief hiatus, UNKL is basic at SDCC under the Toynami label. While Toynami is usually associated with Anime properties, it appears they have a newfound interest in designer/urban projects.
UNKL was showing not one, but three new projects – the SDCC exclusive Gastro-Normous as well as two works in progress – The Viking King (Dreamers Series) and the SearchR – the latest figure in their Search and Rescue series which started off with beloved SUGs.
SDCC: Travis Louie’s – Uncle Six Eyes
Travis Louie’s Uncle Six Eyes resin bust made its debut at SDCC in the Hi-Fructose booth. In production from Bigshot Toyworks, Six Eyes has made the transition from full figure to bust quite nicely. The bust format better reflects Louie’s paintings which feature portraits of personable ‘monsters’. The new piece rightfully places emphasis on the character’s face. The plentiful facial detail nicely captures the personality and life of Uncle Six Eyes.

SDCC: Munky King’s Omi Unmasked Party Recap
After the MINDstyle party, people made their way over to the nearby Bar Basic for Munky King’s annual SDCC bash. This year’s ‘Omi Unmasked’ edition celebrated the release of MK’s brand new Omi project unveiling and release. Collectors got a chance to experience Omi first-hand with DIY Omi figures included in the complimentary goodie bags. Four Omi artists Dave Flores, Yoskay Yamamoto, Joe Ledbetter and Angry Woebots (S2) showcased their skills with a group live-painting session featuring Omi-shaped canvases. As in previous years, Bar Basic was packed with artists, industry types and collectors. Vinyl Pulse was proud to sponsor this year’s party – we quietly inserted five Vinyl Pulse exclusive ‘Angry’ Stitches by Angry Woebots into the goodie bags. Who got ‘em ?
