Martin Hsu At SDCC: New Kindreds Proto
If you’re at SDCC, be sure to drop by Martin Hsu’s booth [#4530] to check new artist customs of his Dragon Boy figure, apparel, prints and more. He’s also showing a prototype of his next upcoming figure project—Kindreds. Still in the early stages of development, Kindreds features a small child and his large companion, a minimalistic bear. The little child is equally at home sitting beneath the bear’s legs or riding on his head. While he hasn’t decided on a material yet, Martin is considering resin or perhaps ceramic as the piece is intended more as decor rather than a “toy” per se.
Munky King at SDCC: New Luke Chueh Proto
Oooh. Munky King is showing a new, as yet unamed proto from Luke Chueh at their SDCC booth. Not much info yet on the new pensive bear (perhaps dreaming of a Colorfield), but we’ll keep you updated.
Jermaine Rogers at SDCC: New Veil Prototype and Creeping:Deity
Jermaine Rogers’ SDCC booth is always on point and this year is no exception. In addition to the previously announced exclusive Creeping:Deity ‘Spirit’ resin figure (which looks great) with the streamlined sculpt and trippy swirling Spirit effect, he also previewed the upcoming Jade edition. The biggest surprise however, is the unveiling of a prototype for a brand new Veil:Specimen #72 vinyl! The new sculpt features an overwhelmed Veil in an emotive pose. More surprises? There’s a new Dero figure in the works as well!
Andrew Bell – Karoshi-San at SDCC
Karoshi San made his all-black debut at SDCC on Preview Night (7.8). Andrew Bell’s odd newcomer looks great—a curious stranger we’d like to get know better (or at least we think we do). In addition to the black edition, Andrew also showed off a proto of the upcoming regular edition (Late Summer) in a sharp gray, red and white color scheme. Drop by the booth [#1335] to checkout Karoshi and of Andrew’s other goods.

SDCC Exclusives from Beefy and Co.
Beefy and Co. will be back in SD for Comic-Con with a trio of exclusives. On the softer side of things, there’s two new exclusive plushies. From the Adventures of Ryupoo series comes the Fluffypoo Golden Fleece edition (100 pcs, $25). As with the regular edition—also available at SDCC—the golden one’s fleece is removable for use with other characters.
Next up is the SDCC Exclusive edition of Paiju the Panda Kaiju (11”,100 pcs, $28) the first character in the brand’s new Kaiju Wars series. The mutated panda kaiju carries quite a wallop with his “fluffy tail whip” (courtesy of his bendable tail) and radioactive atomic puke (which neatly stores away in his mouth for safe keeping) and while not listed as an attack per se, his 360 degree head articulationatriculation might strike fear in his opponents as well. But wait that’s not all… The SDCC edition comes with a mini plush missile which fits in Paiju’s mouth.
Finally, for vinyl fanatics, Beefy is unleashing the 2nd edition of Mari—the angry, emotional cuddlefish. The Seaweed Envy edition features a light green design with blue and red accents (125 pcs, $65).
All of this will be waiting for you at the Beefy and Co booth [#5150] where BeeFy will be signing and sketching for fans.

Squibbles Ink + Rotofugi at SDCC: Jerome by Frank Kozik
Whoa. Smorkin! Rotofugi mentioned that they were waiting to announce a new Frank Kozik release for SDCC depending on the sometimes fickle shipping fates. Turns out DHL came through and so those at comic-con will be the first to score Jerome – one of Frank’s classic Smorkin Mongers—in a new 4” soft vinyl form sculpted by Joe Sommers of Squibbles Ink. Complete with removable Smork for today’s health conscious consumer, the new Jerome looks positively bad ass.
