ThreeA – Canvas Series DIY Track Square Artist Editions
A few days ago we posted about ThreeA’s Shanghai Toy Show plans, mentioning they were releasing an Ashley Wood DDV2 DIY Track Square. We also wondered whether Track Squares shown from Huang-Jia Wei, Kelvin Sau, Kenny Wong, Shimizu Eiichi, Shimoguchi Tomohiro, Steven Choi and Zao Da were customs or production editions. The answer is… production – as hard as that is to believe! Each of the six additional artist Track Squares will be released at STS in editions of 50 for 600 RMB each. Very cool. These will be available via the ThreeA booth [C18].
Scott Tolleson x Pobber – Baos for Shanghai Toy Show
For Shanghai Toy Show, Pobber will release a new clear blue Bao (45 pcs, 250 RMB) from Scott Tolleson. The little guy reminds us of chilly times, ice blue with a frost white jacket. In addition, it looks like Pobber will also have ten more of the awesome custom Xiao Long Baos (480 RMB) by Paulus Hyu. Get your Baos at STS Booth [C9].
Coarse at STS: Enjoy Your Stay – Ignited + Omens
In addition to the previously mentioned False Paradise micro editions of high-end resins, Coarse will also release three new vinyl editions for the Shanghai Toy Show. Enjoy Your Stay returns in a new Ignited (195 pieces, 1988 RMB) edition with some beautiful full-color accents. Crab and Raccoon are joined by a pair of large Omens. I Got You (44 pcs, 1988 RMB) is a gray design while Little Liar (44 pcs, 1988 RMB) rocks the bluish green hue.
Chino Lam – Giant Gold Maguro Senpai for Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7)
Chino Lam will release a new Giant Gold Maguro Senpai at Shanghai Toy Show. The new edition will be limited to 950 pieces and retail for 899 RMB at Chino’s booth [B7]with quantity spread throughout the show’s three days.

Paradise Toys – Kaiju Hunting Blind Box Series
Paradise Toy’s Kaiju Hunting project was first released at last year’s Taipei Toy Festival as a series of clear sofubi. Now comes the next phase, a blind-box series! Set to debut first at the Shanghai Toy Show (5.4 – 5.7), the Kaiju Hunting series will feature six characters: Triboo by Dan, BHM (Big Hairy Monster) by Studio UAMOU, Kumanba by Konatsu, Rasogimasu by T9G, Seedlas by Shoko Nakazawa, and Satoshi Yamamoto(Hunter) by Dehara Yukinori. Each character will have three designs in the series – standard/color, GID, secret. Very cool. Kaiju Hunting will be available at STS from the Uamou/T9G/Shoko/Dehara/Konatsu set of booths [D17] and the POP MART booths [B15 and D18]
Chino Lam – Life-size Maguro Senapi at Shanghai Toy Show (5.4 – 5.7)
Chino Lam will debut his new ‘life-size’ Maguro Senpai at Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7). Not to be confused with the upcoming ‘giant’ vinyl, this one is apparently one meter tall (39”) ! As he mentioned on his IG, think of the OG as the 100%, the ‘giant’ as the 400% and this as the 1000%. Impressively, the design and detail seems to have transferred over quite well to the large format – especially the fish texture. Be sure to visit the Chino Lam Workshop booth [B7] if you’re going to be at STS!
Seulgie – Handmade Satyrs for Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 –4.7)
Seulgie will release hand-made spring-time Satyr editions, bunnies and lambs in pink and blue at her Shanghai Toy Show booth [B8]. These are deluxe resin editions complete with custom hair and bows.
She’s also made two one-off Satyrs that will be available at the STS auction on-site—only teasers of these so far.
Andy Chen x Pop Life – Ice Kirin Coco Twist at Shanghai Toy Show
Pop Life will release the new Ice Kirin Coco Twist from Andy Chen at the first-ever Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7). Part of the SFBI Originals line, fun figure re-envisions the legendary Kirin as a soft-serve ice cream cone. This edition looks great and appears to feature a marbled head cast (double pour?). It will be available alongside many new releases from the brand at the Pop Life booth [A15].
J.T Studio – 8” Monkey King Vinyl to Debut at Shanghai Toy Show
J.T Studio is readying the new 8” Monkey King Vinyl to debut at Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 –4.7). Featuring eight points of articulation, the new 8” soft vinyl version follows Jei’s popular 1:6 Monkey King. The question now is which version? The artist’s most recent IG post shows a graphic of the OG red + yellow, but a recent post also tagged #sts featured a mono edition. Maybe both ?!? If you’re going to STS, be sure to drop by the J.T Studio booth [B31].

POP MART x Pucky – Pucky Pool Babies Revealed
So POP MART has been keeping us guessing and scrambling with several Pucky Pool Babies announcements :) First they revealed four designs, then another four, and then another four, plus a 13th golden one. The group shot of the twelve designs together gives us confidence that these are all of the standard designs. Which would make the gold one a secret/chase. Pucky Pool Babies will debut at the Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7) and then be released in China on 4.14.

SuperTon at STS: Shabu Suke New Editions + Artist Customs
SuperTon will have three production editions of his Shabu Suke soft vinyl figure available at Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 –4 .7) along with four artist customs. In addition to the OG edition of his samurai cat,
SuperTon will also release two new editions, Dark and Guan Yu (metallic green). It appears that the Guan Yu edition will come a new Guandao (pole sword) weapon, while the Dark may come with the shorter sword. </.P>
Superton will also present crossover customs from three talented artists – Kong Chanin, Pump Jung and KikToyz. Each has taken a fun on turn on the samurai cat. We’re rather impressed with KikToyz’ iridescent custom. For all of the Shabu Suke releases, drop by booth B27.
Naughty Brain for STS – Micro Run Xuan Zang and Panda
Naughty Brain will be showing in his home town for Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7). So far he’s shown announced two hand-painted runs of three each. First there’s the rad crimson Xuan Zang resin figure inspired by Journey to the West. As you can see in the close-up shots, the painted detail here is impressive. He’ll also have a micro run of his self-sufficient Panda vinyl done in saturated rainbow hues. Hit the jump for detail shots of the panda – NSFW. The releases will be available via the Naughty Brain booth [A50].
Fools Paradise x ZCWO – Oyishi Paradise: Burger Debuts at Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7)
Fools Paradise will launch their new Burger (‘beefy’) figure at The Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7). The new toy is the first in the new Oyishi Paradise line done in collaboration with ZCWO. The piece features a cow/bull with the body of an extravagant double hamburger. Burger is classic Fools Paradise, a crazy, imaginative design coupled with scrumptious execution flowing from the realistic textures and 3D relief of the food to the contrast with the cartoony cow character. Burger will debut at STS with 100 pieces available the ZCWO/Fools Paradise booth [C28]. Fools Paradise will take pre-orders for worldwide delivery beginning on May 3rd, 2018.

Liu Zhiqi – Mini Kikiwa for STS and WF Shanghai
Liu Zhiqi will release new editions of his Mini Kikiwa soft vinyl figure (4.3” long) at Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7) and WonderFest Shanghai (4.6 - 4.7). The STS version of the hybrid rabbit/fish toy seems inspired by koi fish while the WF ‘Black Cat’ edition is perfect for cat lovers. We’re impressed with this toy which doesn’t seem to have gotten much exposure outside of China. The two animals flow together gracefully and the overall design is cute yet subdued. Both the STS edition [黑商会 (Shadow) booth b19] and the WF Shanghai Edition [A19-A20] will be available for 288 yuan (~$45).
The Magician and Friends – New Oni Warrior at Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7)
The Magician and Friends—William Tsang and Steven Choi—will unleash a striking new edition of Oni Warrior—produced by Unbox—at the Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7). The duo seem to rotate design duties, with Steven Choi delivering this wicked turn playing with a mixed black and gray design infused with crackling golden energy. Capping things off is a nice tattoo-style dragon on the torso. The new Oni Warrior will be available from their STS booth [A12].
POP MART x Pucky – More Pucky Pool Babies Revealed
When POP MART announced their new Pucky Pool Babies minis from Pucky, we were a bit surprised to see just four designs (shown below). They typically focus on blind-box releases and four wouldn’t be enough to carry a series. Turns out the series has at least eight designs. POP MART recently unveiled four more super-cute Pool Babies. Our favorite so far is the black+gold balloon dog girl, followed closely by the cutie with the lavender penguin (?) hat. The series debuts at Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7) and then officially drops on 4.14 in China.
Fools Paradise at STS – Super Professional Director’s Cut
Fools Paradise will release their Super Professional Director’s Cut vinyl set at their Shanghai Toy Show booth [C28-B]. The follow-up to the company’s clever homage to Leon, Matilda, Mario and Princess Peach carries the colors and vibe of The Professional rather than the video-game hues of the first release. The first 100 sets will be available at STS with the rest presumably available later via online pre-order. [Photo: Kix-Files]
Pucky x Unbox – Space Cat Debuts at Shanghai Toy Show
Pucky will debut her brand-new Space Cat (9.5”) figure at the Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7). With a magical forest sprouting from her head, this cosmic feline brings Pucky’s art to life with a clever blend of figure and diorama. As they have done with her previous figures, the talented folks at Unbox have managed to recreate the soft edges and tones of Pucky’s hand-made sculpture in a production edition—not an easy task.
Pucky will have an advanced release of 15 pieces (200 worldwide) available for sale at her STS booth [B9] for 2200 RMB (~$347) . Expect an online release sometime after the convention. In addition to Space Cat, Pucky’s brand-new Pucky Pool Babies minis from POP MART will also debut at STS.

Winson Ma at Shanghai Toy Show – Master C Fu: 4 & 7”
Winson Ma will release several editions of his Master C Fu figures, at the Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7). Part of the Martial Arts Master Series, the formidable Lion Master will be available in 4” resin and larger 7” vinyl versions. For STS, Winson will release two 4” productions editions – red and a dark silver (‘dark’) as well as several hand-painted runs. For the 7”, he has two hand-painted runs. The first is a black design with red + yellow accents and the second blends silver with red and blue accents. Find Master C Fu (and likely more) at Winson’s STS booth [B17].
Monster Taipei – STS Exclusive Erosion Molly by Kennyswork and Instinctoy
Monster Taipei will release its Exclusive Erosion Molly from Kennyswork and Instinctoy at the Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7). The new edition features a silver design + colorful accents with several different surface treatments. As with the other editions, this new edition has movable eyes – an unusual touch for a vinyl toy. It will be available on Thursday and Friday (4.5 – 4.6) from Monster Taipei’s booth [B37]. While it doesn’t appear Instinctoy will have a booth at the show, fans will be happy to have a chance at a brand-new Erosion Molly.
ThreeA at STS: DIY Track Square Release from Ashley Wood and ???
ThreeA will be exhibiting at the first-ever Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7) alongside ThreeZero in booth C18. Ashley Wood and company have some fun things planned for the show including one announced release (so-far). Back in February, 3A announced that the DDV2 Square would be released at the show. It’s since been revealed that the official name is DDV2 DIY Track Square and is part of Canvas Series Number 1. It will be available at the show for CN¥ 600.00 and $110 at Bambaland on April 5th. And if you’re wondering, yes, the tracks on the figure are movable/articulated.
This updated branding is interesting in part because it’s an indication that 3A is positioning the Track Square as a platform. It’s even more interesting coupled with the news that ThreeA has shown what appear to be custom DIY Track Squares from seven guest artists for a special STS project. Huang-Jia Wei, Kelvin Sau, Kenny Wong, Shimizu Eiichi, Shimoguchi Tomohiro, Steven Choi and Zao Dao will each be signing at the 3A booth in half-hour sessions. At least one of the artists has mentioned that his figure will be available for sale at the convention-–presumably as a one-off custom. This begs two questions, will some of these additional artist designs be released as production figures at some point ? And, will we see a blank DIY Track Square.

POP MART x Pucky – Pucky Pool Babies
Pucky is working with POP MART on a brand-new mini series—we believe her first. Pucky Pool Babies features her whimsical characters enjoying a dip, many with fun innertube designs. She mentions these are coming ‘soon’. The #sts tag leads us to believe these will drop at the inaugural Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7).
Six TwentyEight – MITT Blue Splash for STS and ToyCon UK
Six TwentyEight has just revealed the sparkling new Mitt Blue Splash edition which will be available at April toy conventions including Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7) via Wrong Gallery (D7) and ToyCon UK (4.7 – 4.8) via Collect and Display. It will also be available online from 6 28 in late April. Love this edition – happy hunting !
POP MART x Mame Moyashi – Exclusive Master The Giant Claws Edition Debuts at STS
POP MART will release an Exclusive Master the Giant Claws figure from Mame Moyashi at the Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7). This sure to be red-hot edition seems to celebrate the delicious spicy lobster dish loved by many. Based on the promo image above, it appears that this is limited to China.

Devilrobots at Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7)
Devilrobots will release several new To-Fu toys, many in soft vinyl, at the first-ever Shanghai Toy Show (4.5 – 4.7). First up is the Robo X, an STS special edition of the My Firsto-fu figure cast in clear soft vinyl with a painted mini to-fu inside! There’s more soft vinyl action with the To-Fu Mix series (mixed parts), and the larger Crazy Pop figures— which are filled with soft pom-poms. If you’re after minis, you’re in luck with the Mini To-Fu colors and Crazy Pop minis. They’ll also have UltioTofu, a great ukyDaydreamer x Devilrobots collabo release. All of this will be available at the Devilrobots booth [D16].
