Shane Jessup’s Hachi Supply – Art for Dogs
Shane Jessup’s newly announced Hachi Supply brand is focused on producing an artful line of products for dogs manufactured in Los Angeles (right on), starting with leashes and collars and eventually expanding into dog bowls, ID tags, harnesses and more. Named for Hachiko, a Japanese dog revered as an icon of canine loyalty, the brand will release two seasonal collections per year. Things get going with the Fall ‘11 line debuting in September with leashes and collars from Tristan Eaton, James Marshall (Dalek), Dustin Hostetler (UPSO), and TADO. Each collection will also feature a collaboration with a like-minded brand.
Hachi loves dogs. Not only are they making stylish products for dogs but they are also supporting various efforts to improve their well being including sponsoring pet adoption drives as well as donating money to support no-kill animal shelters.

Greg ‘Craola’ Simkins x Vannen - ‘Always Look Down’ XL Watch
Vannen has just released the ‘Always Look Down’ XL watch from Greg ‘Craola’ Simkins. In a word, we’re impressed. Greg’s surreal honey bee imagery is rendered directly on the watch crystal with a trippy circular swirl pattern behind it, for a strong layered effect. The design flows right through to the band with a swampy mud color scheme and pattern, complete with fade.
Limited to 150 pieces, Craola’s ‘Always Look Down’ XL Watch is available now from Vannen directly for $85. As an enticing bonus, 1 of the 150 packages will include an original Greg Simkins ink drawing (see below). Nicest Vannen XL yet? Just might be.

Here’s a look at the intense packaging for Greg 'Craola’ Simkins’ ‘Always Look Down’ XL Watch from Vannen Watches, due to drop on Wednesday, July 13th 2011 from vannenwatches.com and your favorite retailers. Based on Greg’s stunning paintings and this packaging sneak peek, we’re pretty sure the watch is going to impress (count on it). To amp up the fun, Vannen is going to randomly insert an original 'Craola' ink drawing inside the packaging of one of the new watches. ‘Always Look Down’ is limited to 150 pieces (1:150 chance of scoring the drawing), and will go for $85. Vannen has just picked up McBess to do their latest collaborative Artist Watch. McBess’ “Time Machine” is limited 150 pieces worldwide and the packaging is both sign and numbered. These will retail for $85 each and includes a free digital download of the Dead Pirates “Malevolent Melody” EP. Jon Burgerman – New Puma Kicks
The Master of Doodles, Jon Burgerman, has collaborated with Puma and UK shoe purveyor Size? on an extremely limited high-top sneaker featuring his doodles throughout. The burger-rific shoe has been released in two colorways – white and red. The Red has sold out through regular retail sources, but the White is still available directly from Size? Tim Tsui x Li-Ning Kicks
In the latest crossover between toys and street-wise apparel, Tim Tsui has collaborated with Chinese sneaker brand Li-Ning on a special shoe celebrating their 20th Anniversary. Riffing off the companie’s slogan, ‘make the change’, Tim has designed a shiny black sneaker with a convertible design transforming Li-Ning’s low cut 001 style into a high-top of sorts. Tim’s simian-influenced touches can be found throughout, most notably on the tongue which features an embroidered ape face. Additionally, the interior apparently features his graphics as well. Finally, in a nod to China’s growing space program, the shoe features a metallic, futuristic finish. That’s alot of background info. The bottom line is these new Tim Tsui kicks look great.

Vannen Series 2 Watches + Contest
Vannen has just launched their second series of limited-edition watches. S2 features four designs from Bigfoot, Blaine Fontana, Thomas Han, and Travis Lampe. This new collection celebrates ‘new art’ regardless of the label you use – low brow, underground, pop surrealism. Each watch is limited to 500 pieces and will be available directly from Vannen as well as select retailers for suggested retail of $65. Ritzy Periwinkle and Jen E – Supreme Goods
Because the world doesn’t resolve completely around toys (at least we’re pretty sure)… When’s she not designing toys (Bic Buddy S1), LA artist Ritzy Periwinkle is busy creating across several mediums including small ceramic goods with her friend and potter Jen E under the Supreme Goods brand. Their line of Precious Pendants and Tiny Treasures which features the Jen E’s ceramic skills and Ritzy’s illustrations, first debuted at Unique LA last winter. They’ve just opened a an Etsy store, so you can buy their hand-crafted pieces on your schedule rather than wait for the next show.

Huck Gee x Ken Block x DC – Kicks, Caps, Race Car
So yes we were caught hitting the ‘snooze’ on this one a bit… Huck Gee has collaborated with Ken Block (he of the Gymkhana videos ) and DC (founded by Block) on a new collection of ‘Double Label’ goods featuring a new “43” Block Skull Logo. The collection includes several kicks and a New Era Hat each with the new logo emblazoned with Block’s racing #. In addition the new logo is on Block’s new Ford WRC racing car. Qee Apparel Coming Soon
Toy2R has announced that they are collaboration with Fifth Sun on a line of Qee Apparel. So far all we have is this flier style announcement – no photos of the upcoming product. Toy clothing has been hit or miss in recent memory. We’re curious to see which direction this new line takes. Would be nice to have collector friendly threads that promote the scene without spooking our friends and our closets.
